The Accent

Originally from Yorkshire (England) and called the Blue Blood Group, the band re-located to London in 1966 & changed their name to The Accent. Their psychedelic gem "Red Sky at Night" was released as an A-side single in 1967 on Decca records in the UK. Despite positive reviews, the song failed to chart. It was maybe "too far out" for the public at the time.

LYRICS: Red Sky At Night

Red in the night (Red in the night)
Shepard's delight (Shepard's delight)
Red in the mornin'
Shepard's warnin'

Sky's glowing red and this boy's worried
Think of what mama said
Needn't have hurried

Night's over
I can see dawn breaking
What's that strange glow?
This boy's shaking

Red in the night (Red in the night)
Shepard's delight (Shepard's delight)
Red in the mornin'
Shepherd's warnin'
